James Helps Tennis Club Clinch Third Successive Title

It’s game set and match to Knowle & Dorridge Racquets Club, which has clinched victory in the Warwickshire Men’s Veterans League for the third year in a row!

We’re delighted to report that the tennis club was able to call on the skills of our client services director, James Shelley, and Alistair Clark – captain of the Club and also managing director of longstanding Wakemans client AC Lloyd Homes. Both James and Alistair are keen tennis players and, as representatives of the A Team, were instrumental in the Club’s success.

The Warwickshire Men’s Veterans League is open to players aged 45 and over and in 2018/19 Knowle & Dorridge Racquets Club played fourteen ties against Nuneaton Lawn Tennis Club, Solihull’s Blossomfield Tennis Club, Leamington Tennis & Squash Club, Edgbaston Archery & Lawn Tennis Society, Four Oaks Tennis Club, Beechwood Lawn Tennis Club and the Edgbaston Priory Club.

James said: “It’s been a very exciting challenge, playing matches against some fine opponents, and we’re delighted to run out as champions of Division 1 once again.”

Alistair added: “This is a great result, which highlights the fact that there’s real strength in depth at Knowle & Dorridge Racquets Club and reinforces our achievements over the past couple of years.”

Knowle & Dorridge Racquets Club claimed the Division 1 crown by winning all but one of its ties, amassing a total of 50 points and posting a nine-point lead over second placed Beechwood Lawn Tennis Club.

Here’s to further success for James, Alistair and Knowle & Dorridge Racquets Club in the 2019/20 season.
