National property and construction consultancy Wakemans is close to completing a new fast food development, incorporating a KFC drive-thru and a Dominos Pizza takeaway outlet, in Kingswinford, near Stourbridge.
Wakemans is acting as quantity surveyor and employer's agent on behalf of London & Cambridge Properties Ltd (LCP) who have a national property portfolio, including the neighbouring Pensnett Estate.
LCP is constructing two shell schemes plus car parking on the cleared Stallings Lane site, which was formerly a fuel forecourt, at an overall development cost of £800,000.
“This is a prime location on the B4175, one of the main routes linking Dudley and Stourbridge, and is a stone’s throw from a small parade of shops and a Morrison’s supermarket. Since the new KFC and takeaway are also close to an established residential area, they will provide extra choice for visitors and locals alike,” says senior quantity surveyor Jo Dale.
Contractor Thomas Vale is on site and the project is scheduled for completion later this month, with handover of the KFC facility already completed.
Wakemans has strong links with LCP, which is one of the UK's largest private owners of industrial and retail property and manages a portfolio of 14 million ft2, which it holds for long term investment purposes. Wakemans advised on the £4m Dragonville Retail Park in Durham, KFC is part of YUM! Brand Inc., the world’s largest restaurant group, and has a network of 750 company operated and franchise restaurants in the UK and Ireland.
