News - Wakemans Promotes from within to Strengthen Wales Office

National property and construction consultancy Wakemans has strengthened its team in Caernarfon by appointing Dylan Morris as associate director and promoting Tom Hastings to senior building surveyor.

Dylan, who lives in Nefyn, studied part-time for his BSc Honours degree in building surveying from the University of Salford in Manchester and is an Incorporate Member of the Chartered Institute of Building (ICIOB).  He is currently working towards Chartered Building Surveyor status.

After commencing his career with a contractor, Dylan moved into the public sector before joining Wakemans as a building surveyor in 2001.

"In Caernarfon we offer a one-stop service for a variety of clients, covering everything from design support, planning advice and maintenance programmes to management consultancy on major development schemes," says Dylan.

"My new role will see me take responsibility for the office, with a remit to expand the business by developing opportunities with existing and new clients."

Tom Hastings joined Wakemans in 2003 and has a building surveying degree from John Moore’s University in Liverpool.  He also holds the ICIOB qualification and is currently working to progress this and his RICS status to full membership.

Currently, Tom is project managing numerous planned maintenance programmes – predominantly for Gwynedd and Anglesey.  As senior building surveyor he will have sole responsibility for managing schemes and will assist Dylan with the day-to-day running of Wakemans' Caernarfon office.
