News - Tony to Manage Wakemans Projects in the South West

National property and construction consultancy Wakemans has appointed Tony Hooper as a senior quantity surveyor and project manager to progress schemes it is working on in the South West and develop new business opportunities in the area.
Tony, 49, is an associate of the Chartered Institute of Builders and has spent his entire career in the construction industry.
Having joined Capita Symonds in 1975 as a trainee quantity surveyor, Tony gained wide-ranging industry experience during his 25 years with the company.  Latterly he was involved in project management and facilities management, working in Bristol, London and Birmingham, and also spent two years in Saudi Arabia.
Wakemans is a dynamic and successful company.  I am looking forward to putting my skills and experience to good use in developing the business in Bristol,” says Tony.
In welcoming Tony to the firm, Wakemans Chief Executive David Howles says: “Tony’s years of experience will be a great asset to us and in addition to servicing our existing clients in the South West, he will provide valuable support to the St. Modwen and Travelodge key account teams.  He will also be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities for our Bristol office.”
Tony is married with three children and in his spare time plays golf and enjoys visiting National Trust properties and organising outings with his family.
Wakemans has also strengthened its building surveying team with the appointment of Gordon Harrow as senior building surveyor.  Gordon will be based at the firm’s Birmingham offices and will take charge of a variety of retail, industrial and commercial schemes.  He will also identify opportunities to help grow this area of Wakemans’ business.
