News - New Wakemans appointment boosts CDM capability

National property and construction consultancy Wakemans is further strengthening its Construction Design Management (CDM) capability with the appointment of Paul Caesar as CDM co-ordinator.
Paul, who lives in Small Heath, has an HND and BA degree in business information technology, from Wolverhampton University and Coventry University respectively, and holds the IOSH Managing Safely qualification along with the NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety.
After starting his career with Fujitsu Telecommunications as network support service manager, where he was responsible for developing co-ordination with the likes of BT, Orange and Level 3, Paul moved into health and safety with Hyder Consulting working for clients such as Severn Trent, the Highways Agency, the Ministry of Defence and Vodafone.
Wakemans is acknowledged for providing relevant and practical CDM services across the whole spectrum of industrial and commercial developments and, following the appointment of senior CDM co-ordinator Andrew Pennell in July last year, is actively investing to grow this area of its business.
“Wakemans   extensive health and safety portfolio offers fantastic opportunities for me to gain new skills and improve my career prospects in the health and safety field,” says Paul.
Currently working on CDM issues for a variety of Travelodge and St. Modwen schemes, in the long term Paul will also be involved in helping Wakemans develop health and safety consultancy opportunities in new markets.
The Wakemans team  has recently been appointed  by regeneration specialist Castlemore Securities to act as CDM co-ordinator on phase two of its £multi-million Temple Quay development.
The mixed use scheme in the heart of Bristol’s commercial district incorporates 745,000 sq ft of Grade A offices with basement car parking along with 660 new homes, 40,000 sq ft of restaurant and retail space and a 142 bed hotel.  It will transform a former derelict area into a vibrant waterfront development adjacent to the Temple Meads railway station.
