Dean commenced employment with Wakemans in 1984, and was appointed a Director in 2008.
Dean has a range of experience in both pre and post contract quantity surveying duties, including estimating/advising on contract procurement, preparing tender documentation, cost management, preparing interim valuations and preparing and agreeing final accounts.
Experienced in all development sectors including Commercial, Retail, Industrial, Leisure and Health with extensive knowledge of Infrastructure and Highway works.
Experience also includes acting as Project Manager/Employers Agent on many schemes. The role includes administering the contract, co-ordinating the information and design, liaising with all appropriate parties (i.e. funds, tenants, purchasers), commenting on the suitability of construction, agreeing valuations and certifying recommendation for payment, agreeing final accounts and certifying practical completion and making good of defects.
With particular knowledge including submissions and negotiations for grant funded projects (ERDF Funding and English Partnerships), assessing capital allowance expenditure for tax recoverable purposes on a variety of projects and advising on VAT matters.
