Description:

Kier Property retained Wakemans as Employer’s Agent and Quantity Surveyors to work on this £35m project to refurbish Middlesex Guildhall located in Westminster Square. The grade II listed building accommodates the Ministry of Justice and the UK Supreme Court.

 

This extremely high profile and complex project began with a complicated consultation and planning process.

 

Construction work included asbestos removal, the sympathetic repair of structural defects, and the removal and reinstatement of architectural features and antique furnishings.
There is a public exhibition area within the building. The entrance of the court in Westminster Square, will become a part of the ‘World Squares Project”, and site inspirational sculptural artwork.The project was completed on schedule in March 2009.
